La Roncier Falls in Tuktu Nogait National Park

Both roadside parks and remote fly-in National Parks dot the Western Arctic region. Dempster drivers have a choice of five day-use sites and three serviced campgrounds between Fort McPherson and Inuvik. Parks Canada looks after three National Parks accessible from Inuvik - Ivvavik on the Yukon coast, Tuktuk Nogait alongside the Hornaday River east of Paulatuk, and Aulavik, on far northern Banks Island.

There is one more park accessible by air charter from Inuvik - the historic Yukon Territorial Park called Herschel Island, or Qikiqtaruk in Inuvialuktun, off the north Yukon coast.
